The region of Cataluña is home to a wide variety of landscapes, cities, and villages. That’s is why when traveling to Cataluña the visiting can choose from between mountain or beach, bid cities or village, innovation or tradition. However, for today’s post, we have decided to explore the little towns of Cataluña. So, start packing for one of the best trips of your life!
We start our journey in Tossa de Mar, one of the best villages in the whole Costa Brava. Why? Because this little town perfectly combines fantastic weather all year round, beautiful beaches, and exquisite architectonic heritage. So when discovering this town, we recommend starting on la Vila Vella, the old quartier which is enclosed by the city walls. In the visitor can start in the Passeig de la Vila Vella, to them move on to the ruins of the old church of San Vicente, and finish with a visit to the castle of Tossa.

For discovering and enjoying Tossa de Mar one can make use of the local area of Can Martí, which has a fee of 13€ per night. However, you should know that the area is only open from the 1st of June until the 15th of September.

An alternative to this first area is the area of Caldes de Malavella, which has 5 parking spots and is only 30 minutes away from Tossa de Mar. Additionally, if you decide to stay here, you can visit the castle of la Font de la mina, and the famous balneary of Vichí catalán, as well as the Roman termes.
In just a few streets, this charming town combines the most beautiful architecture of the entire Bajo Ampurdán. So when discovering this village, get ready for some incredible stone houses, its city walls, and of course the beautiful medieval castle.

Sadly, the city does not have its motorhome area. However, only 15 minutes away we can find the area of Torroella de Montgrí, which has a total of 25 parking spots, and an overnight fee of 20 €. On a side note the area is located on a family farm, so it’s perfect for getting to know the locals.
This village of Muslim origin is located in one of the meanders of the Ebro river. The first this that stands out is the proximity of the houses to the river, which creates the illusion of them floating on the water of the Ebro. You cannot leave this place without visiting the castle, which later on was used as a convent, and that nowadays offers a fantastic panoramic view.

Once again Miravet does not have a motorhome area. However, a great alternative is to stay in the free area of El Masroig, only 20 minutes away. The area is located in a winery that offers visits to the vineyards and the cellar. Additionally, its proximity to the Natural Park of Montsant, makes it perfect for some hiking.
This little fishing village is located on the rocky coast of Costa Brava, and to this day it retains the calm atmosphere of the old times. AS a result, the visitor is welcomed by narrow streets, houses with tile roofs, and traditional fishermen’s houses. If you want to discover the traditions of this side of Cataluña you cannot miss it. We highly recommend visiting the natural area of Castell-Cap Roig, and the tourist town of Llafranc.

For staying on Calella de Palafruguel one can use the local parking.
Our final stop is one of the medieval jewels of Cataluña, and once you step foot on this village you will understand why. Located in the heart of the Costa Brava, this city will transport you to the Middle Ages. By taking a stroll throughout its streets you will discover the Plaça Major, the Visigothic towers, the castle, and of course the city walls. We recommend finishing the visit by enjoying the stunning view that the viewpoint of Josep Pla offers.

For discovering this beautiful village you have the option of staying at the motorhome area of Empordárea de Palamós (approximately 20 minutes away). The area has a total of 40 parking spots and a fee that ranges from 13 € to 17 € depending on the season.
